이 표현은 자명하게 골프에서 온것 같네요.
골프에서 Par를 하면 기본은 한 것이지요. 그런데 기본도 못된다니… below par… 시원치 않은가 본데요. 여기서 below par를 버디라고 생각하시면 안되요. 골프에서 버디는 기본보다 잘 한거니까요.그래서 이 표현은 오해를 불어일으킬 수 있겠네요. 하지만 원래 뜻은
something that isn’t up to standard, or someone who isn’t feeling or doing very well 입니다.
