미시간주립대 한국학 위원회가 8일 제17회 글로벌 코리아 어워드 시상식을 개최하고 한국을 빛낸 2인에게 공로상을 시상했다.
올해 수상자로는 Bruce Fulton & Ju-Chan Fulton(The Inaugural Holder of the Young-Bin Min Chair, University of British Columbia; Author & Translator)와 Djun Kil Kim(Professorial & Research Chair, Samsung Korean Studies Program, University of Asia & the Pacific)가 선정되었다.
한국학 위원회는 또 Zachary Lee Schutte (Sophomore, International Relations, MSU), Joseph Thomas Canty(Sophomore, Japanese, MSU), Rosemarie Rogers-Cooper(Senior, Humanity: Pre Law, MSU)에게 한국학 장학금 수상자로 선정했다.
미시간주립대 한국학 위원회(회장: 백원광, 부회장: 강기원)는 매년 글로벌 코리아 어워드 시상식을 통해 한국의 국제적 위상을 높힌 공헌자들을 선발하여 시상하고 있다. 본 시상식은 고 임길진 학장에 의해 1995년에 설립된 이후 70여명에게 어워드를 시상해왔다.
